First of all a crap coverage by the BBC – the reason being Terry Wogan carried on commentating throughout the Goran Bregovic performance.  He showed real disrespect and a l ack of professionalism- he really is a twat and the BBC should replace him.  Russia won the contest, thanks to their novel performance of having a famous iceskater on the stage dancing on ice (yes really).  Otherwise I thought the contest was rigged, nobody in their right mind would say Russia was the best.  I really liked the French, British, Spanish, Armenian, Croatia and the best I thought was Serbia.  The Serbian entry had a touch of Gaelic and was sung in Serbian.  I did like other acts like Greece, but I’m mystified as to why the songs are sung in English and appear to be imitations of R&B dance acts from the US – hardly European is it?  Still the voting system has been cut down to save time and the show was excellent!
