Gordon Ramsay – Playing with Fire
Excellent book. Its interesting to note his experiences and the challenges he faced opening his first restaurant, dealing with tax inspectors, union bosses in New York and general good nuggets of information that go into expanding a business empire and running a fine dining operation. My only criticism is that the chapter subtitles which summarise the overall business lessons are little unnecessary and almost put me off, thinking it was going to be a crap book, but it wasn’t. The book is highly enjoyable and readable. The edition I read includes the T5 opening and other updates since the first edition, making it excellent value for money.
